Sustainability is at the core of Bradcorp’s development philosophy: delivering the best outcomes for people, place and the environment. Carefully examining the context and natural features of each site and effectively pursuing bespoke strategies that maximise environmental advantages, Bradcorp is adept at turning what are typically seen as constraints into desirable lifestyle opportunities and healthier communities.

A sympathetic understanding of natural waterways are a recurring theme in all Bradcorp developments, and in many cases these natural waterways are the hub around which their developments are planned and treated with utmost respect and preservation.

At North Wilton, the transformation of the 870-hectare site will include an entertainment and recreational activity hub centred around a multi-function lake, designed to enhance the beautiful natural setting located below the Razorback Range. The gorges of the Nepean River and 300 hectares of riverfront bushland reserve will offer active recreational opportunities and protect bio-diversity resources. The Neighbourhood Plan No. 1 retains natural assets and introduces water into the environment with a series of ponds, streams and waterfalls.

Blessed with outstanding bushland resources, at Bingara Gorge Bradcorp developed an innovative Environmental Trust, funded primarily by a percentage of residential sales. The Trust protects, maintains and enhances both surrounding bushland and the urban environment. The ground-breaking approach was highly commended by the NSW Office of Environment & Heritage for protecting and enhancing environmental resources in perpetuity and promoting community stewardship. This, in combination with other environmental sustainability features, resulted in Bingara Gorge winning the Design Concept of the Year at the HIA/Boral GreenSmart Awards.

Responding to the site’s topography and location within the Sydney water catchment, The Cascades development uses a series of cascading waterfalls and attractive detention basins to recycle and improve the quality of urban run-off. With thoughtful planning, this created a highly-valued recreation spine where people walk, run and cycle to promote a healthier, socially-integrated community. The water recycling and quality enhancement has created an environment good for people, attracts wildlife and protects Sydney’s water catchment. The estate received the UDIA Award for Excellence for Environmental Planning and Development. The Stormwater Industry Association also commended The Cascades in their Environmental Excellence category.

Nangarin used an innovative approach to protect agriculturally productive land. Quality homes were integrated with vineyard operations, supported by water recycling from the dwellings. The Community Title arrangement ensures residents are connected to the agricultural heritage of the Picton region and protects a diversity of land uses. The HIA awarded Nangarin Estate Housing Estate of the Year.

Bradcorp prides itself on developing tailored sustainability solutions, delivering optimised responses. In the process, each development delivers quality recreational and social integration opportunities, and works to enhance local features. Bradcorp is helping to transform the southwest of Sydney to an increasingly desirable place to live, work and play.
